I just wonder what Kirk's thoughts were when they first tested out the Federation's 'gift' for him and the crew saving Earth from 'The Probe', and saw firsthand how much of a bratty girl the Enterprise-A was:
McCoy: I can't decide if this bucket o' bolts of a ship is better or worse than a freighter.
Kirk: Me neither. Scotty, you wanna bet me that the Excelsior's captain had something to do with working this ship over before we got it?
Scotty: I'd lyke to, but I gots me no money to bet with. No doubt this is payback for disablin' all her systems when we went to rescue Mr. Spock.
Spock: I still fail to see the logic in sacrificing so much to rescue me, but in hindsight it was necessary. Otherwise we'd not be here 'the Probe' would be continuing to wreak its havoc.
